I can provide a book for you to read or you may bring one from home. Please choose a time slot below that might work for you to come in and I will do my best to accommodate your request. Please send me an email at with your preferred 15 minute time slot request by Monday, April 13th. The students will begin working on an Insect Report soon in school. Please help your child to choose an insect to study. The students will need to share which insect they have chosen on Friday, December 5th. After that, I will begin asking students to research their insect at home. These materials will be requested to be sent to school in order to write our report in school. We will follow a very structured process in order to complete the report. It will be fun! In January, we will be celebrating the student's hard work with a family insect dinner called the "Bugapalooza" featuring insect-inspired dishes. More details to come! Also, the PTO will be hosting "Young Shoppers" again this year. Our class will go shopping on Thursday, December 11th at 9:20 a.m. Gifts range from $.50 to $5.00. Please send your child to school with money in a ziplock baggie or money holder of some sort on that day, if you would like your child to shop for holiday gifts for a family member or pet. Thank you!

Good morning! I hope everyone had a fun, spooky, and safe Halloween! The weather forecast is calling for chilly temperatures tomorrow for our field trip to the zoo. Please dress warm as the high temperature is only supposed to be 50 degrees. Remember to bring a bag lunch (no glass or peanut products please!) unless you ordered a lunch from the cafeteria last week. See you tomorrow for a really fun day:)

Good Morning! Thank you for the permission slips for the field trip that have been coming in steadily. Thank you for your generosity to volunteer to chaperone at the field trip. We are kindly requesting that chaperones drive to the zoo. In the past, parents have met at the school in the morning and carpooled up to the zoo together. Our school bus is going to be filled up with second graders so there will not be enough room for parents. Thank you for understanding. In addition, as you know, our class will be making a "praying mantis" scarecrow. Our class will be working on the scarecrow in school this week on Thursday and Friday afternoon as well as next Tuesday (if needed). Thank you for sending in materials to help make our scarecrow! The scarecrow will be displayed at Godena Farm on November 1st for the Annual Harvest Celebration. We are also very fortunate to have Mrs. Furhana DiBiase coming to our classroom one time per month to do STEM with our class. STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Our first lesson will be this Tuesday morning. Very exciting!
